Heavy Rains and Rising Watershed LevelsJanuary 11, 2020
This is the stream that carried runoff water to the flood zone/wetland along 11 Mile Road. The water then runs to the sluice on the east side of the wetland which carries the water to a retention pond. Years ago the city dredged a channel in the wetlands to allow the water to flow properly. Today the bed of the stream and the floor of the wetland has accumulated leaves and silt and fallen branches. The water levels are now creeping into the back yard of the properties along 11 Mile Road. |

July 30th Cleanup - Trim dead branches and whiskers from pines. Would like to add plantings to camouflage utility boxes. Also added fertilizer to the four annual flower beds.

A 10-pound snapping turtle, found crossing Arcadia Drive, was returned to its natural habitat of the creek. The turtle quickly buried itself in the mud and was gone from sight.
Ladies' Charity - December 2014
Here are the books we purchased with the proceeds of the Holiday Charity drive for the Ypsilanti New Tech High School students. Teacher Shae R., our neighbor, said these books will encourage her students to read in their free time.
Donations of paper products for the Novi Emergency Food Bank, administrated by the Novi Presbyterian Church, were also contributed. |
